During a February 2018 trip to Florida I quickly became enthralled with the water birds.  The Venice Area Audubon society keeps careful watch over a tiny island in the middle of a retention pond, smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood.  It is home to an  amazing collection of water birds all co-existing with their young in this tiny space.  There is plenty of drama to keep a photographer busy for days (GPS Coordinates are provided).  

I also visited Jungle Gardens in Sarasota Florida which provides a nice collection of more tropical birds.
