Macro is extreme close-up photography where you take a photo of a much smaller area rather than the whole.  It allows you to slow down and take in the smallest of details.

I find it amazing the variety of patterns that nature provides.

Slow down, stop and take the time to smell the roses.  When you're done, bend down and take a close-up of the dew drops on the rose petals.
